Limerick, Ireland — From 2 to 31 October 2025, the Hunt Museum is proud to host FLOW – Shannon Estuary 2023–2100, an immersive photographic and audiovisual installation by French photographer Carl Cordonnier in collaboration with Sandra Suire and Hugo Cordonnier. This project maps the evolving shorelines of Ireland’s Shannon Estuary and France’s Somme Bay in response to projected sea level rise.
FLOW bridges art and climate science by visualising coastline transformations over the coming decades. Combining still photography and moving image, the installation invites viewers to reconsider notions of territory, vulnerability, and adaptation.
Designed for flexibility in gallery spaces, the work includes open workshops for the public to participate in photographic and digital art exercises. Participants can contribute their own vision of landscapes in 2100, which will be integrated with similar testimonies gathered in France.
Teresa Crowley, Director and CEO of the Hunt Museum:
“The Hunt Museum is delighted to present FLOW, a compelling fusion of art and science that visualises the realities of climate change. Carl Cordonnier’s work invites us to reflect on the future of our coastlines and sparks vital conversations on how we, as communities, can adapt and protect the heritage we cherish.”
Céline Place, French Ambassador to Ireland:
“The French Embassy is proud to present FLOW with our Irish partners. Art has the power to make us see what science tells us: our coastlines are changing. FLOW invites us to imagine the future and to act together. This project not only raises awareness of the sea-level rising, but also strengthens cultural dialogue and cooperation between France and Ireland at a pivotal moment, as we mark the 10th anniversary of the Paris Agreement.”
FLOWwill be presented from 2 to 31 October 2025 at the following partner venues:
