NOTE: We are currently working on having the "The Great Mothers Sanctuary" at our 2008 event. We will update this area soon. Until then here is what this area was about last year: The Great Mothers' Sanctuary for Nursing Moms and Tired Tots is a free service provided to this year's Harvest Festival in collaboration with Valley Foothills Doula Collective, The Mothers' Support Network of Greater Sacramento, the La Leche League of Sacramento and the Pagan's Altar Guild. We provide a quiet, sacred space dedicated to our ancestral mothers and the Great Mother Goddesses found throughout the world. There, away from the energy of the main festival, we provide a sanctuary for parents and their tots to retreat, refresh and regroup. Within our Sanctuary you will find a quiet area to nurse your infants and toddlers, a diaper changing station, some simple refreshments, and a quiet time play area with a small toy chest, books, coloring pages as well as a stuffed animal adoption center. The collaborating agencies will be staffing the sanctuary and will provide some counsel and educational literature on their individual services and organizations.
